Before we delivered our first pump we had to test our designs to determine what worked and, more importantly, what didn't. To test them we designed and built a dynamometer to accurately measure our vacuum pumps' free flow (SCFM to ± 0.5), vacuum (in. Hg. To ±0.1), torque (oz. in. to ±1.0) and horsepower draw (HP to ±0.1) from 0 to 6500 RPM.

This purpose-built dyno has enabled us to run and gage our pumps' performance at any RPM under any vacuum load, allowing STAR machine to refine our pumps to their present state of efficiency and reliability.

We can simulate a run (from a 17 second Stocker to a 6 second Pro Stock) including the burnout, staging, launch, RPM changes during gear shifts, shutdown, and even the drive back to your pit. We can also loop these runs to simulate over 500 runs in just days. Now, rather than waiting a year or more for on track testing results, we can reliably determine if we have the best bearings, vane material, coatings, etc. This means you won't have to be the "guinea pig" for our products.
