Our new Filtered Baffle Fitting will prevent small particles from entering our vacuum pumps. The fitting is manufactured from 7075-T6 Aluminum then black anodized. The (stainless steel) filter screen is integral to the fitting, preventing it from dislodging. The 40 mesh screen will trap particles as small as 420 microns (0.016"). That may sound large until you consider the screened fittings for most dry sump oil pump scavenges have openings 2 to 3 times this size.

The fitting can be purchased separately as an upgrade to your existing Star Machine Baffle Assembly or as part of our Baffle Assembly. If you don't have our Baffle Assembly choose our 12AN Female Filtered Fitting STR.21.07.200 which will screw onto any male 12AN fitting.

* Most of the debris in your engine is getting in during valve train maintenance. One way to prevent this is to brush or blow away the debris around your valve covers and intake manifold before you remove them. *
